“While my career initially steered towards the corporate world, a nostalgic glance back to my childhood - filled with vivid paintings adorning my bedroom - inevitably led me back to the pursuit of my dreams as an artist.”

I’m a self-taught artist from North Manchester…

that’s driven by an unwavering passion for bringing creative visions to life. While my career initially steered towards the corporate world, a nostalgic glance back to my childhood - filled with vivid paintings adorning my bedroom - inevitably led me back to the pursuit of my dreams as an artist.

Growing up with Crohn’s disease from the age of 11 meant numerous hospital stays. During those challenging times, art became my refuge - an escape and a pastime. I recall peculiar memories, like scribbling during bouts of stomach ache, and when the pain stopped I would turn them into colourful creations. I didn’t think that this was strange as a child, but looking back… I guess it was unusal. I feel as though I’m unlocking many seemingly odd childhood memories which have become a source of inspiration as I journey through my art career, solidifying my belief that everything happens for a reason.

Fascination with the sky and the ocean, ingrained since childhood, continues to influence my work. I could spend hours captivated by the light lingering on the clouds as the sky turns from violet to orange and how that influences the oceans appearance. I remember being sat on a beach, mesmerised at the waves making small rolling curves and ruffles, watching it change with the brightness of the sky. And yet, I would always feel disappointed whenever I took a photograph as it never quite captured the depth and vastness of what I felt and saw.

Today, my artistic focus centres on creating pieces that evoke expression, breathing life into sensations, reactions, and passions. By understanding the somatics of my body, I embark on metaphorical painting journeys that express a connection between imagery and feeling. Using bold colours and mix mediums, my aim is to spark conversation and ignite emotions through abstract art, inviting viewers to explore the profound connections between heart, emotions and visual expression.
